DTaCoGo
Recipes for Digital Twinning as Common Good
The Digital Twin as a Common Good (DT-aCoGo) project, led by the city of s-Hertogenbosch, with a total budget of 2.6 million euros, has been approved in the EU Data Space for Smart Communities call. Together with the cities of Tampere, Rotterdam and the Future Insight company the consortium will deploy a full Urban Data Space for the Digital Twin Pipeline.
In the pilot the consortium will trial ‘recipes’ for mitigation-scenarios in which heat stress and flood risk management are combined with traffic congestion reduction for Climate Adaptive Urban Design. The integrated approach will optimize city planning and lead to emission reduction, minimize disruptions for citizens and improve the livability and social fabric of cities. The project aims to enhance the connection between and scalability of locally developed digital twins. To this end, a uniform approach is worked on in the form of ‘recipe-templates’ that can be replicated across European Cities. Recipes also enable stakeholders to develop scenarios themselves and still secure a required level of quality.
The project brings together multi-disciplinary stakeholders from leading European cities and companies deploying a common vision for intelligent and sustainable urban transformation. The challenges involved are characterized by a strong interconnectedness of systems, on different geographical scales. Digital Twinning helps to get a grip on these inherently complex and multidisciplinary dependencies and enables efficient multi-stakeholder decision making. To this end public and private data from a variety of sources need to be shared in an Urban Data Space. This cross-domain Data Space facilitates combined calculations of Models based on different trust frameworks, creating interoperability between all component. The required data-transactions that follow are operationalized through the use of Digital Twin Recipe-templates.
